ISOLON 500

ISOLON® is a registered trademark. Under the trademark ISOLON® all types of polyethylene and other types of polyolefin are produced. ISOLON® material with a unique set of qualities has: • heat, noise, hydro and vapor barrier properties; • oil-, oil- and petrol resistance; • environmental and hygienic safety. ISOLON® applications cover almost all industries: • construction and engineering; • automotive and maritime transport; • oil and gas industry and products for electronics; • medicine and space products; • food industry and packaging materials; • footwear and clothing industry; • production of products for sports, recreation and tourism; • leather industry and household use. ISOLON® 500 is physically cross-linked polyethylene foam. Physical cross-linking is performed in an electron accelerator and changes the linear molecular structure of the polyolefin to cross-linked. Physically cross-linked material acquires unique properties that increase the durability and resistance to temperature and mechanical stress. Physically cross-linked polyethylene foam ISOLON® 500 has a unique set of properties: • Excellent thermal insulation. Heat conductivity coefficient 0,036 W / mºС at a density of 33 kg / m³. • Effective protection against moisture and steam. - physically crosslinked polystyrene foam ISOLON® 500 with a closed-cell structure does not absorb water and is an excellent protection against moisture and water vapor throughout the entire volume of the material. This allows the use of the ISOLON® 500 as a waterproofing material. • Excellent shock insulation - in combination with a small thickness and low dynamic stiffness. • Chemical stability - ISOLON® 500 is distinguished by good oil, oil and petrol resistance, and is compatible with almost any building materials (concrete, cement, wood, lime, gypsum, etc.) • Resistance to decay and durability. The term of operation is not less than 30 years. • Environmental safety material. The production of ISOLON® 500 does not use substances that destroy the ozone layer of the Earth. Contact with food and human skin is permitted. • Reduction of time and cheaper construction due to the possibility to carry out installation on their own, at the expense of saving materials, due to the high speed of installation and its simplicity. Reliable preservation of heat as well as cold (the cost of which is much higher) allows you to feel the economic effect of using the ISOLON® 500 already at the very beginning of operation. • Softness, elasticity and low weight. ISOLON® 500 provides lightness and ease of handling. A four-digit index is used to designate the brand of physically crosslinked polystyrene foam ISOLON® 500. The first two digits indicate the multiplicity of foaming - this is an increase in the volume of foamed polyethylene during foaming, the second two digits correspond to the thickness of the finished material. To determine the density of polyethylene used the formula - 1000 / (multiplicity of foaming). ISOLON® 500 has a unique combination of physical and chemical properties and is available in a wide range of densities from 25 kg / m3 to 200 kg / m3 and thickness from 0.8 mm to 50 mm. Izhevsk Plastics Plant JSC produces ISOLON® 500 foamed polyethylene, which are indicated in the material grade: • ISOLON® 500 AV - physically crosslinked polyethylene foam, foamed on a vertical furnace; • ISOLON® 500 AH - physically cross-linked polyethylene foam, foamed on a horizontal furnace; • ISOLON® 500 SV - physically crosslinked foamedaville foamed on a vertical furnace; • ISOLON® 500 SH - physically crosslinked polyvinyl foam foamed on a horizontal furnace; • ISOLON® 500 P - physically crosslinked polypropylene; ISOLON® polystyrene has a combination of unique properties that ensure the versatility of their application. Today, IZP JSC manufactures products based on ISOLON® under other trademarks: • ISOLONTAPE® is an ISOLON®-based self-adhesive material, coated with glue on one or both sides and wound on a cardboard sleeve; • EcoHeat® is the general name for DIY materials based on ISOLON® for renovation and decoration. Products based on polyethylene foam ISOLON® 500 combines the advantages of ISOLON® such as environmental friendliness, low thermal conductivity, elasticity, low weight and ease of installation. ISOLON® is always also foam, but ISOLON® is not always foam.
