Description
R.I. Bach is a Russian sculptor, a graduate of the Russian Academy of Arts, the father of academicians of sculpture N.R. and R.R. Bach. He was the chief artist of the bronze foundry of R.Ya. Kohun and the trade company "Nichols and Plinke" in St. Petersburg. He specialized in the field of small-scale plastics and arts and crafts. The bust "Spring" was made in 1860 for the factory of R.Ya. Kohun. It is paired with the bust of RI Bach "Summer". An allegory of spring in the image of a young girl with flowers and a lace headdress in her hair, her head is inclined to her right shoulder. The Kasli plant has been casting the bust since 1896.
