The model of the sculpture St. Catherine the Great Martyr was made in 2006, for the opening of the Orthodox Church of St. Catherine the Great Martyr in Rome. The Holy Great Martyr Catherine is the daughter of the ruler of Alexandria of Egypt. She lived in the 4th century AD, during the agony against Christianity. For her commitment to the faith of Jesus Christ, she was severely tortured and beheaded. Canonized by the Christian Church as a saint. In the Christian tradition, she is depicted with a cross in her hands and a wheel, symbolizing torture. The figure of a young woman in a long dress and cloak, with a crown on her head in her left hand, holds an eight-pointed cross at chest level, the palm of her right hand rests on the rim of a vertically placed wheel. The stand is low, in the shape of a Greek cross, with a relief of paving stones on the horizontal part and relief ornament of crosses and seraphims on the side surface. The Kasli plant has been casting the sculpture since 2006.
