Goldsheider F.-M. - Austrian sculptor and entrepreneur, founder of the Vienna and Paris factories for the production of art products. The sculpture "Judith" was made in the late 1880s. Judith is one of the heroines of the Old Testament, a pious beauty - a widow who saved her hometown from devastation by the troops of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar. Risking her life, she made her way into the Babylonian camp and cut off the head of their leader Holofernes. The enemies fled in panic, and the townspeople enthusiastically welcomed their savior. The figure of a young half-naked woman in height, with a sword on her back. The stand is octahedral, convex. Inscriptions on the stand: on the front side - "YUDIF", on the back - "slave. Goldsheider. ”The Kasli plant has been casting the sculpture since 1896.
