The use of high-speed screw and intensified devices due to the constructive organization of the effect of directed helical macro-vortex motion of media in the annulus and turbulent flow in the pipe space allows to achieve indicators previously unattainable in standard shell-and-tube devices:
- high intensity heat transfer process;
- increased zone of transverse swirl washing of heat transfer tubes;
- formation of stagnant zones that contribute to the appearance of deposits and reduce heat transfer is excluded;
- the influence of non-condensing gases on the heat transfer rate is excluded, and also due to the complete condensation of the steam and deep cooling of the condensate, there is no need to use coolers and bulky condensate drain systems;
- Due to the turbulent motion of the medium, in which there is a breakdown of particles, tending to plant on the heat exchange surface, the effect of its self-cleaning is achieved.
This significantly increased the period of stable operation of high-speed screw devices:
- long service life with overhaul mileage;
- lack of any requirements for the quality of working environments;
- absolute resistance to vibrations and hydraulic shocks;
- compact sizes and minimum weight;
- low capital and operating costs.
A more significant advantage of intensive CB devices is the ability to implement our proposal where the operation of a standard device has already shown its lack of effectiveness. Either there was a need to increase productivity on existing equipment, and replacing the existing device with a new heat exchanger with a larger heat transfer surface is associated with additional material costs for replacing foundations and pipelines, or simply not possible due to the lack of space for larger equipment.
Due to its high efficiency and low metal consumption, high-speed screw heat exchangers are always cheaper in cost than standard heat exchangers!
